The 1. International Hans Kock Symposium is an artistic workshop for students from Spain, China, and Germany. The workshop is organized by the Hans-Kock-Foundation in conjunction with the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, and the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos Madrid, Spain. The theme of this year’s symposium is centered upon three-dimensional spatial compositions.

The symposium will be hosted by the Hans-Kock-Foundation at the Seekamp Estate, which is located near Kiel-Schilksee. The event will be held under the artistic direction of the sculptor Jörg Plickat.

The participating students will be tasked with composing and producing large-scale sculptural objects.  At the end of the symposium, the participants will have the opportunity to install their individual work within the Seekamp Estate’s sculptural park in a dialogue with the permanently exhibited monumental sculptures of Hans Kock.

In concert with Jörg Plickat, the workshop will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Antonio Vigo and Prof. Miguel Monita from Madrid as well as Prof. Shen Yi Lie and Prof. Shou Li Pen from Hangzhou.

The students participating in the symposium have been selected by their home universities.

During the workshop host families will accommodate the students in the nearby village of Schilksee, while the visiting professors will be housed at the Seekamp Estate
